Not a weighweenie bike, but I've been looking for a very long time for a Miyata 1000 touring bike .... regarded by many (including Sheldon Brown) as the best Touring bike ever made and these are regarded as a 'holy grail' bike
Found one in my size from a seller in Germany .... in mint condition and for a price of 549 Euros plus 80 Euros shipping with DHL .... I am delighted!!
I will change the wheels to HED Belgium Plus and add a Son 28 dynamo hub with lights .... change the saddle and upgrade the groupset etc ... This will be my winter bike and used for some audax rides

Wow it has Shimano Biopace rings on it. It must be a few years old now.

Very nice helmet (IMHO), with normal price tag...
They have other helmets, Carnac Notus is a copy of Specialized Evade:

https://thefairlyaveragecyclist.wordpress.com/2018/09/
Carnac Kronus Time Trial Helmet also had a good review:
https://road.cc/content/review/229107-c ... ial-helmet
etc...
One more interesting thing that I have read:
---I had good fun sourcing those mountainbike helmets on one of my last trips to China for Planet X.
We had found the factory at a show and went to visit to see what their manufacturing processes were like.
The showroom with all the different models in was rammed, and the couple we chose we were told were good. “Bell also choose this model” said the salesperson.
I'm not surprised, maybe it's like with TV panels, 90% of them are from the same factory...
Reporting back This helmet scored 9/10 Gold Award in BikesEtc Magazine Nov 2016
But I don't believe in most of the tests until I try something for myself.
I really like this helmet... Fit is excellent, pads and straps as well. I forget it's on my head.
Like you see in the pictures, size L, and on the label it says it is 230 +/-10g
I have weighted it for you:
246 grams, so not exactly 230 +/-10g, but close enough, and weight-wise it's on pair with the most expensive helmets from Kask, Giro, Bell, Poc, Specialized, Bontrager, Lazer, etc...
Downsides, it is a little bit noisy when the speeds are over 40 km/h, but it's helmet with many openings/vents, not an aero helmet, so I don't think that is a downside, all similar summer helmets with many openings/vents are a little noisy in higher speeds.
Last expensive helmet I have briefly tried was Limar Air Pro:
https://limar.com/shop/cycling-en/air-pro/?lang=en
It is a very nice helmet, and it costs 250 EUR.
Carnac Aura was 40 GBP.
All helmets are made with EPS liner (Expanded polystyrene) which is basically crushable foam. All helmets on the market must pass tests to be sold, EU standard is EN-1078. OK, there is design, some aero tweaks, but comparing to let's say Limar Air Pro, that is a lot of a price difference, and I think most of the money is just for the name.
My opinion is that this helmet is on pair with more expensive helmets...
It was Planet X's most expensive helmet (excluding their time trial helmet) but for some reason Planet X does not offer this helmet anymore (one mont ago you could still buy it from them). You still (for now) have it on planetxireland:
http://planetxireland.com/products-page ... ad-helmet/
But the price is now 70 EUR (on sale, it was 80 EUR).
Just price matched and purchased a DA 9150 full groupset with online prices at my local bike shop, excited to try 165mm cranks! (Currently on 170's can't think it'll make a huge difference.. but hey more my size for sure).
Big purchase for me, excited for the shiny!

Garmin Edge 830. First impression- holy shit, this thing is huge compared to my 520. Second impression- holy shit, Garmin software is crap. I wasn't able to pair it to the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone. Then I Googled for a solution and found a YouTube video on pairing with an 800. After you turn off WiFi on your phone you'll be able to pair it using LTE. Voila and it worked.
