What are the best all around cx clinchers? Dugast and Challenge are out of stock.

Vittoria and Michelin seem to be my favorites, but I'd take a tub over clincher any race. If you're looking for clinchers then really give tubeless a chance - at the low pressures of cross you can usually use a standard rim and just convert it and then use Stan's in you tire (works with Michelin, not tried with Vittoria)...

Thanks Lance for pointing out that Stans has a set up. I think I might check out the ravens by stans. The ravens are some great mtb tires. Have you guys tried them for cx? I love the thought of not having to deal with flats. Plus I hate changing tubes and I figure that would be a frequent occurance in cx.

I order the stuff through or local distributor. Thanks for the advice.

Order through QBP?

Fangos are in stock, they seem to work better as an all around tire than the grifos

I would stay away from the Raven's I had them on a set of the Stan's rims and they just aren't that good. Huge rolling resistance - seemed like I was on a 2" mtb tire...

I've had a number of people tell me that tubeless cross tyres "burp" all the time so that you're losing air as the race goes on. Wasn't happy to hear this, as had been planning putting the Stan's conversion onto my clincher rims ... :(

How do these comments line with people's experience here? :noidea:

I haven't had that problem at all. I use my tubeless wheels for training, so I run the pressure around 38 psi since I'm not worried about having absolute dialed traction when I'm just bombing around. I have Stans ZTR Olympic rims and run Stan's sealant in the tires with the Raven tires (who cares about really high rolling resistance when ou're training?). This combo seems to work really well for what I use it for.

When it comes to racing, I still ride tubis...

I race on tubies, but I really like the Hutchinson Bull Dog clincher tires for training - it is tubeless compatible as well, but I haven't tried that...

With mine- saw a rear tire come straight off the rim-- not good.
