Aero Handlebars in gravel
Moderator: Moderator Team
I know this might be a sensitive subject but which aero handlebars are available with some flare that can be used on a gravel bike?
As for the moment i am only aware of:
- Enve Aero
- 3T AEROGHIAIA INTEGRALE
- Deda SUPERZERO GRAVEL
Integrated barstem system can also be an option!
thanks

Enve SES AR are a bit more gravelly than the Aero but still an aero handlebar. Main aero compromise is with most setups you have to wrap the tops to keep the hoses in place (channels rather than internal).
The new Enve SES AR cockpit goes one-piece and eliminates that need.
FSA K-Wing AGX is aero-ish
Prime Orra Aero is just the flared version of a well-regarded budget road option.
I think there a fair number of OEM one-piece setups with flare, though I don't know how many are available aftermarket:
Black Inc / Factor
BMC Kaius barstem
Ridley Kanzo Fast might have one?
Ribble do one for their bikes and I bet a lot of other 2nd tier manufacturers do similar.

I use the Lambda Cross-Wing Aero. Super narrow on the hoods, quite a bit of flare, and short drop. Size 42 (at drops) and 35 at hoods - it's the one with the larger clamp area, so I can add some clip-ons if needs be.

I have strong opinions on this topic:
AERO HANDLEBARS IN GRAVEL ARE POINTLESS
When you go to reg at your next gravel race, they will inevitably hand you a number plate to put on your handlebars - all bar aerodynamics are now negated and to lesser extent frame aerodynamics. Go with the best shape that suits your morphology for a fast body position and then pick the lightest you are willing to pay for. Voila, fast gravel bar.

Some of us use their gravel bike as road bike by simply changing the wheels, et voila, you "need" all the aero gains you can get.
But when it comes to strong opinions ... flared handlebars are pointless
Who says you can't wrap the race number around your head tube? You don't have to have on the handlebars like some parachute.

I feel like the number is for the photogs and you to be able to find your pics so they can be sold after the event. I'm not in the lead pack so I'll wrap that number around the headtube. Never been hassled.
