Hello

The Scott CR1 is on top of the "what frame to buy for next year" list, but I need to know the diameter of the toptube.

I pedal with my knees inward (TT-style), and have had trouble with my knees hitting the toptube on some frames (Klein), and I don't want to buy an expensive frame and experiance the problem again.

Thanks in advance

Best regards
LAN

I just picked up a Scott CR1 about a month ago... How Sweet it is.
I am riding a medium (54cm) and the diameter of the top tube is 13cm.
It has to be as big as a Klein, all of the tubes on the frame are rather thick.

13 cm is 5 inches! Are you sure you've not measured the circumference? I've not measured mine, but it is a big tube and probably bigger than a Klein.

It's 45mm on my 54cm.

Have you had someone look at your pedal technique?
Increasing the Q factor of your pedals could save you a frame.

The top tube is really beefy - mine is pretty exactly 4.8cm (1.9") @ size 52 (S).

I do have the same problem with the knees that you mention LAN.
You really have to get used to it and after a whole season I still think it is pretty much of a downside and really annoying.
I'd prefer a narrower oval (tear drop) top tube shape, like e.g. Giant is using.

Only time when it is really good is when riding in rain - because then the top tube is nicely "lubricated". :D
