leaked from Shanghai Bike show website. It's NOT Exceed v2 but named as SPEAR. it may means lightweight and fast.
the seat stay design is decribed as Wind-eye. maybe to smooth the turbulence from legs? also add some compliance for sure.
It's said as wind-tunnel tested in Silverstone Sports, and weighted 680g(not sure what size) with 2 race and 5 standard geometries. also non-glue process for molding.
I found someone posted weight photos, 6.66kg with 8070 groupsets and red axs cranksets. pedals included.
What do they mean by "non-glue process for molding"???
They could be referring to sticking various bits of the frame together as I don't see how they could do without resin. But I doubt they could use thermoplastic bonds as that would increase weight, and I'm not sure what else that leaves. Maybe they mean they're not using a nasty conventional resin (what people think of as glue), and instead something safer / more sustainable / recyclable.

POC Cytal Carbon - more expensive, slightly lighter Ventral. Looks like a Kask Elemento type thing.

Toray subsidiary Carbon Magic's new track bike for the Japanese team. Listed at 20M JYen but I assume pricing is incorrect and it's 2M ... €120k would seem a little steep even for a homologation special.

They're an awesome bike, have been looking at pictures of the prototypes popping up here and there for quite a while. But I believe that's the actual price, have read before that it would be sold for around 100k Euro/Dollar (not sure of currency). It has to be available to the public but that doesn't mean achieveable haha.

Seems like a silly price given that the molds are now made and any reasonable price will offset their sunk cost ... I think the Hope is less than a quarter of the price.

Even the Pinarello in vastly more costly 3D printed alu is around a quarter of the price.

Assume they have no intention of making any more

Yeah my understanding on the release of the Hope bike was that pricing had nothing to do with the cost to make it and was set entirely so that they could comply with UCI retail availability rules without actually having to make/sell any to the public.

Means the funding structure starts to look more like Formula One than World Tour Bicycle racing - no consideration at all to recovering R&D investment because the project isn't about poduct development, it's all just marketing for the rest of the products on offer from the brand(s), and the only trickle down into consumer products will be from processes and learnings formed along the way.

The UCI rule for commercialisation says, you are not allowed to put a huge price tag on to stuff to get around that rule.
But the rule isn't worth the paper anyway. FES is listing their stuff in a webshop for somewhat reasonable prices, but if you inquire for it, they literally tell you to *f##k* off which violates the rules as well.

ARTICLE 1.3.006
In addition, the retail price of the equipment shall be publicly advertised, shall not
render the equipment de facto unavailable to the general public and shall not unreasonably
exceed the market value for equipment of a similar standard.

Yeah that's normal, they'll reduce the price to something normal after the Olympics.

I do vaguely remember now the Hope one was crazy expensive, then they slashed it a couple of months after the Olympics.

Yeah I guess it's their way to give exclusive use of it to the country it was developed with/for while still keeping the uci happy. Factor is doing something similar I think. Think they said their $100k or whatever bike will be $5k after the Olympics.
