This is really stupid but should the EPS 12s shifters audibly click from the lever when you shift up?

Reading the manual there seems to be a procedure described regarding the hammer click in the shifter? Found the document whilst looking up the rezero procedure for the RD.

I am only asking as after 12 months of riding mine in silence I am wondering if they should click?

Are you talking about the thumb shifter or the paddle behind the brake lever?

Paddle behind the shifter - allegedly it should click when you push it?

Mine does, I can hear and feel a quiet click when using the paddle.
