Thinking aloud here: could I theorectically take any frameset that uses FSA's ACR headset system and replace it with this SRS headset?

I've been trying and failing to find a round seatpost frameset that accepts routing derailleur and brake cables through openings in the headset top cap. I like the implementions from Pinarello, Specialized, Cannondale, and Cervelo as they'd allow me to use a conventional stem whilst retaining some semblance of clean looking semi-internal cable routing.

I'm aware of the Aurum Magma which does sort of meet my seatpost and cable routing requirements but the implementation is not the best as it only supports mechanical routing through the downtube ports. This got me thinking about the new round seatpost ACR framesets from the likes of Bianchi, Merida, and Lapierre. If I could replace those ACR headsets with a FSA SRS unit or maybe even the Token S-Box, I could use a conventional stem on those frames.

It looks to me like as long as your frame has the 1.5" diameter headtube at the top any of the headsets you list should work.

Concur with HappyGuy; in fact the SRS headset was created for just that reason. Any bike with a fully integrated setup using a 1.5" ACR headset can be retrofitted to the SRS headset and a non or semi-integrated stem.

Replacing an ACR headset on a 'true' acr frame by an SRS headset will not be possible.
The particular thing about the ACR system is the routing of the front brakecable going into the steerer tube of the fork from above.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm feeling a bit more confident that I can make things work on the cockpit side. Now the issues are with the frames as the top level Scultura CF5 only supports electronic groupsets and the Specialissima only seems to accept mechancial groupset routing through the downtube ports.

"I've been trying and failing to find a round seatpost frameset..."
I'm curious, why do you need a round seatpost?

I've owned my fair share of proprietary aero seatpost framesets and given the Darimo treatment to most of them (C64, F12 & SL7). I try to have both the seatpost and the bar/stem from the same manufacturer for visual balance and Darimo seems to be the only game in town for proprietary seatpost upgrades. Since I want to try cockpit components from other brands like Beast, MCFK and Schmolke, I have no choice but to find a round seatpost frameset. It'd look off if I use a bar, stem and saddle from one brand but exclude the seatpost.

Not necessarily, they used to do this in the beginning, now the front brake is routed trough the headset together with all the other cables.

Update: contrary to press material, turns out the Scultura V CF5 and Reacto IV CF5 share the same mechanical groupset compatibility with the lower level CF3 variants. The only catch is that the included fully integrated cockpit and associated headset are electronic only, but I was planning on replacing both of them anyway.

Any feedback on if this has worked? I'm purchasing a Scultura V frame set and aim to build it for travel with a conventional bar and stem so this would be a brilliant option if it works!
