Just found this on the Extralite website!
Looks like they're working on a new bolton out-front mount for their Hyperstem (replaces the existing two front clamps).

ETA Jan-2019
15 grams claimed
Carbon-fibre arms and insert

What the heck... I literally sold my Hyperstem 2 months ago because there wasn’t an elegant enough solution for it.

Looks good.

I almost did the same but ended up using a less-than-ideal offset bar mount instead.. I'd defiinitely give this a shot.

This.

It looks like they've really stopped innovating, their products are now "medium" weight, compared to other mass and individual producers (Schmolke, Darimo), but still priced relatively very high :noidea:

Brilliantly elegant idea from Extralite (although it looks like you'd need to purchase new front plate along with the mount)
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

Yeah mcfk have really changed their approach it seems. Maybe their is a market for medium weenie products but i imagine most will steer for the others you have listed. I imagine their stem is probably their best seller.

I e-mailed Extralite as to when these would be available and no response. Wondered what others have tried with the extralite stem. I thought about the F3 out front mount but wondered how secure it would be. One would have to switch out the 5mm bolts that come with the F3 and most other out front mounts to Steel 4mm bolts for the Extralite.
I've thought about a bar clamp on but all the ones I've seen are for the right side of the stem and because my climbing switch is there I want one on the left, purely esthetics I know.

This, though i find the mounting is not as locked into position as other mounts.

I also emailed extralite recently to ask if a gopro mount option for lights and cams is part of their mount.. They replied they are looking into it but no dates or commitments.

I also use the F3 mount (not on extralite stem) and probably wouldn't want to try a 4mm bolt as it's not recommended. Would also have to source extra long 4mm bolts for that to work.
