I don't notice any difference in speed on lighter vs more heavy bike.
Acceleration clear win to light bike.
Nervous, nimble goes to light bike.
Vibrations, feedback is boosted crazy on light bike.
Light bike feels faster.
At first switch A/B heavy bike feel like a tractor.
Also, more smooth.

you know, one can drop an additional 150 grams or so by donating one kidney. And there is a societal benefit to that as well!wingguy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 6:43 pmRemember to check out the hillclimb scene too. When you boil it down to a bike that only needs to do one job, you tend to get slightly more bonkers results. Someone like the author of this article may be worth a shout.

My lightest is the purple weenie at just under 6kg now. It cheap though using a eBay alloy frame and dressed in eBay finds. It's rides fine and wholley in practical given the cirrus ultra pedals. You can clip eventually but not unclip when you want to without lots of practice which I'm not willing to do as I don't want to fall off.
