Did the Etape du Tour with few friends, started a bit far with a 10000s number and couple with staged-start it was a bit hard to feel in a race (spent the day overtaking, jumping from group to group) but a fantastic experience, perfect organization for a 16k people race, roads were just so absolutely perfect, heat quite terrible (40degC max in the last 2 passes), hundreds of riders laying on the side fo the road trying to recover a bit to complete a 6-7 passes race.
Few stupid numbers I counted while riding
- 27 pairs of LW
- 7 chain drops: 5 SRAM, 1 Shimano, 1 Campa (but think he threw is SR derailleur in the spokes first)
- 3 broken chains
- 3 (only) guys with pucture on the side of the road, one within the first KM
- 17x 550cc bottles for me and 24hrs after I was still underweight despite quite a lot of fluid.

A "how on earth is this possible" moment during the pasta party, the 1 out of 16000 people who sat next to me is a old friend I hadn't seen in 19 years.

I really enjoy events with lots of riders, it's a big contrast to my usual solo riding. When I did the Marmotte last year the afternoon heat ruined me so props to you for getting round in those conditions. 17 bottles is mad.

You only had one installed bottle cage. How/when could you get a refill of your bottle or a new filled bottle?

I still have 2 bottles :)
I use Fabric bottles, the DT one (the one I would be drinking) on the normal cage, and the second one sliding on the Fabric cageless supports.

And cause it’s WW with hollow Ti screws

Out for a ride, saw some smoke in the distance in the direction I was going, arrived to find an alarming fire spreading rapidly in a ripe crop of wheat. Fire engines soon in attendance to contain the blaze.

Little reel of a recent criterium raced on some closed roads of kings cross in london.
Had shocking rain so they had to cancel it after one of the mens races.
Big shame but correct decision

I went along to the British Gravel Championship on Saturday. Here's 6 minutes on the male elite race. Did it go to Ineos? Take a look.

Not today but some pictures from a little tour round the NE of Scotland a few weeks back (with added Veloviewer tile action for anybody going down that road  )
Aberdeen - Portsoy - Elgin - Elgin - Portsoy - Aberdeen for 5 great days riding over a big mix of surfaces, mostly on road but a fair bit of forestry and coastal paths and the random farm tracks cutting across from road to road, and blazing sun every day, fully maxing out my sun tan
Cannondale SuperX, 2x, 38mm Gravelking semislicks, packed pretty light and staying in hotels.

Is no-one taking photos on their ride? WW has a bigger audience than your Strava!

Here's our club cyclo-cross race last weekend, it was Wessex League round 4.

I sometimes do, but was not able to upload photos. Is it even possible to do it directly from my phone?
