2018 on the Road Today.

The Deda “SHALLOWS” have a drop of 135mm, a nice moderate depth I like, and kind of contradictory to their name in today’s market. That’s certainly more than the 131mm of the Rotundos and I can’t even ride with a bar of only 125mm drop which some of the compact bars have these days. I do like a flat or relatively flat section on the drops... again, a preference.

If a true traditional bar doesn’t work out for you for some reason, keep in mind that the 40 cm Cyrano Snake has an 80 mm reach, less than the 42 and 44 cm models.Nefarious86 wrote:Happy to forego flare if I can find a 40cm 80ish mm reach traditional drop bar.
Actually, the Rotundo has a 139 mm drop - its deeper drop and less steep ramps make it a little like a hybrid between the Deda Shallow and Deep shapesCalnago wrote:The Deda “SHALLOWS” have a drop of 135mm, a nice moderate depth I like, and kind of contradictory to their name in today’s market. My mistake on the Rotundo drop @Fiery, and you're exactly right about where they fit in the scheme of things. I do remember wondering, now that I think of it, if the 135mm drop on the Deda would be good in comparison. It is, but I wouldn't want any shallower in a classic shape. I do like the looks of the Cyrano too, but have never tried one. I still have an old Deda Newton Deep Drop kicking around... that had something like a 145mm drop and a 95mm reach if I remember right. Deda bars tend to work very well with Campy levers as well, if that's a concern.
