If it’s like other ENVEs, the entire rim will be covered in white whisker lines after a couple months of use.

I'll take good customer response on poor QC on non-structural threatening issues. Otherwise I'm judging hard and probably returning.

I've had my 4.5AR since release and they look great. My friend had 3.4AR and had the whisker look inside of a month. Hoping my 6.7 hold up.

When you're saying white line in the middle...do you mean by the spoke holes on the outside? Where the two halves get glued together or bonded?
yes, thats it. Nothing to worry about just aesthetics. cant fault them though Enve have offered to replace but they have assured me that structurally they are sound and that is ok with me. In the name of environment / waste wont take them up on their offer as i suspect they will bin them and thats no good for anyone.

I've hit so many potholes and other debris on the crappy roads with Enves and all my wheels are still true. I've had other wheels where they would go out of true with hitting potholes and stuff. Even hitting a 4x4 fence post didn't affect the Enve 4.5AR...but cracked my Bontrager XXX stem in half. So despite the white lines or whiskers...the integrity of the wheels matters more to me.

BTW shoutout to Wheelbuilder.com.

I got an email early this morning saying that they just arrived.

A few hours later they were already built them up and shipped out.

They even took somes photos of weights of rims with & without tape.

Those guys are amazing and I'm always impressed by their customer service.

Nice! Did you weigh the Enve hubs after removal? Curious about that.

That’s quick service! I’ve always had great customer care with them but never had any wheels rebuilt. 100 grams savings is quite a bit.

????

My rims never had the ENVE hubs.

Wheelbuilder buys the rims only (without hubs, spokes etc) and allow you to completely customize your build.

They just built up a set of 7.8 disc for me with DT Swiss 180 and Aerolite hubs. Since I really like that setup, I just told them to do the same for the 6.7's.

I hope enve has some hub options down the road.. probably not DT since they have not offered that for a number of years ?.. probably I9 and CK as usual. I9 is lighter but not CK compared to enve alloy.
