Bjorn creating new components

Hello everyone
My name is Artem and three years ago I have started Bjorn Cycles as a company producing bicycle components.

First of all I would like to thank all participants of weightweenie society because the idea of producing something lightweigh by myself for cycling came from this forum.
I decided to start this topic to share our ideas and show the process of creating new things. Everything we make and produce is done in Moscow, Russia. We have our own CNC workshop where produce molds, painting room for clear coating and test laboratory.

We are working on a seatpost at the time, it will be quite lightweight, about 135 grams for 400mm and 27,2 diametr. The main idea is to reverse clamping bolts to ensure more comfort when adjusting saddle, but it is possible only for saddles with a cutout.

Here is some pictures showing current progress. Weight will be reduced by titanium bolts by ~8 grams.
I will be very glad to hear your feedback and thoughts.

As already mentioned in another thread, I'm pleasantly surprised to see a CF manufacturer from Russia, I wish you success What's the price point of your products? Do you guys offer CF repair services and maybe custom small part design, akin to what Christoph Hopp does?

We don't do carbon fiber repair only production. Some small parts are very interesting for us, we just need some ideas to think about. What can it be?

I would like to show you hardware for our seatpost. We have added logo engraved on to upper part. This part is made from 7075T6 aluminium (aerospace grade and best available on the market). The bottom part is made from 3k prepreg. Bolts are made from Gr5 titanium.

So the weight of 400mm seatpost is 350mm as I have mentioned before.

We made several stress tests and found out that maximum load for the seatpost is 300kg.

It is about 10 grams heavier than straight setpost. So 145 grams per 400 mm long.

Mine came in at 152g with the 20mm Setback & 400mm length.

We have added 31,6mm diameter with 0 or 20mm setback.

We work not only under seatposts, also we have saddles with very attractive finishing. Quite lightweight too (from 70 grams)
