Bianchi Oltre XR4

Hey all, a somewhat embarassing question but in what locations are the serial numbers on the XR.4? My original XR.4 frameset had a serial number noted on my receipt but the warranty replacement doesn't have such documentation, I need to find it off the bike. Is it the same as the number on the uniqo QR code sticker, or somewhere else? I know there are numbers visible if I remove the fork but I would think it should be possible to find a serial number without disassembling it?

There aren't any numbers beneath the bottom bracket, the only thing with a number under the bottom bracket is the uniqo QR sticker but there is nothing directly imprinted on the frame. Unless it's inside the BB underneath the plastic cable guide?

That's strange - I just looked and yup, I have two lines of numbers directly imprinted on the bottom of the bike beneath the BB.

That's strange - I just looked and yup, I have two lines of numbers directly imprinted on the bottom of the bike beneath the BB.

Well I'll be darned. There are indeed two lines of numbers. (for anyone else having the same problem, in between the uniqo sticker and plug and the cable guide i.e. just forward of the cable guide) However over the last couple years they've become so faded and dirty with little tiny bits of embedded dirt within the thin lines of the characters that it's unreadable. I had to take a high res photo after cleaning the area as best I could, and then manipulate the image to read the serial number. It's unfortunate, I wanted to look up the number for registration and insurance purposes but there's little chance in the case of a theft recovery that police would see or read the number.

Thats why I always take a picture of the serial number the day I buy a bike! You never know when you may need it!

Does anyone know if the geometry chart reach and stack numbers include the headset cover? If not, how tall is it? 10mm?

First tings firts, the Oltre XR4 its a really nice bike, I have assembly four and until now the all of them are in really good condition even at doing a good amount of Km every mount, and in my vision its a beautiful bike, and yours its no exception.

Now my question, wath brand are this seatpost? Its is original from Bianchi or you have change for someting like Darimo or other? Because all the frames I assembled and included even some Oltre XR4 I have received to do maitenance the seatpost have a diferent clamp sisteme.

For people considering the XR.4, first let me say that having owned one for almost a year it's an exceptional ride.

However I do have a caveat and a warning, to _carefully_ inspect your frame in every respect before taking delivery, as Bianchi are proving rather slow to accept their manufacturing defect on mine (misaligned lower seat tube bottle mount). This couldn't be a more straightforward, clear cut manufacturing defect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl2ETZG ... e=youtu.be and it's extremely difficult to comprehend how this could be any more than a 30 second decision to have the frame shipped back to them and the problem remedied. I hadn't noticed the problem last fall or in the spring because in the cold weather I only needed one bottle. As soon as I was into summer conditions with two bottles I noticed the problem of the cage rubbing my right leg as I pedaled and at that point I wasn't willing to be without my bike for months during the middle of the season. I customized a carbon cage to make up for the wrong angle to get me through the summer. 2017-10-19 Found out today that Bianchi is going to cover this, which is great news if a little slow coming. Whenever I buy frames in the future, I'm going to come prepared with a quick release skewer when I pick it up so that I can check bottle boss alignment.

I just took delivery of a 2018 Bianchi XR4 and I have the same issue... the downtube bottle cage bosses are angled toward the non-drive side of the bike. My local bike shop has seen this on a previously sold XR4 and it was replaced under warranty. This is otherwise an exceptional bike and my second Oltre. I have a 2015 Oltre XR1. I expect I will be getting it replaced. It would seem that Bianchi could raise awareness at Qaulity control to inspect for this defect before shipping out and ideally determine root cause and remedy. At the MSRP on this frame set I expect it to be free of defects.

Another missaligned screws for bottles here. In my case both of them, one to one side and other to another. I gave up from carbon bottle carriers and reused old metal ones which had been adjusted.
I'm not so keen to send it for warranty because of custom color.

have the same thing - supacaz bottle holders work fine though. the misalingment is there, but it is doable.

another thing - the custom paintjob is very nice, but not fantastically durable. i have a lot of chips at dropouts and the BB (had a screw in BB, which basically faces the BB outer edges. its visible now as i use a press-fit BB now.)
