Terrific bike! When I look at the specs it really could even be a very fast bike! Near to perfect build. Triple and everything you need for XC and marathon racing. Of course many people will envy you, but then think about the time to choose the parts, weigh them, build it and especially the work you had to invest to earn the cash. I really like it.
Maybe it doesn´t make me faster - but it does make me feel faster!

If you check Nino's profile, he hasn't posted since Nov '04. I struggle to see why people, bring him up. Nino's aim has always been to build a (in his opinion) "ridable" bike. It seems like members would love nothing more than rivalry, between who can build the lightest bike.

Nino's bike (posted in the articles section) is very light. At the time he put the bike together, it was always the case that lighter components were available and that it was possible to build lighter. We all use our bikes for different usages (XC, XC racing, Marathon, Road, Leisure, Downhill, the list goes on...) and all had differing riding styles.

I myself take my hat off to Hawkpower. He has build a great bike, very lightweight and would have given ww's new ideas as to mods and upgrades to both their existing and future project bikes.

I say, enjoy Hawkpowers bike for what it is...

An ultralightweight mtb, which gives us all ideas for ww builds...

Can you live with 1.0 tubes in your mtb tyres? Maybe you haven't thought about it before. Why not try them out. Do you get substantially more punctures? Speculation is easy, why not try then feedback. That way we all learn...

Hello everybody!!
In the WW specs of hawkpower's Scale is a litle error, in the articles section [Chainrings: MGM carbon 44x94, 44x94, 20x58 47 g], where I guess schould be 44X94, 29X94, 20X58 :)

I don't think there is a weight limit.
The 6.8 kg weight limit apllies to road, track and cyclocross, as is stiplulated in the general UCI rules
There it is stated that extra restrictions are stipulated in the mtb set of the rules, but there is no mention of weight here
