You have misunderstood. There are 2 10-45 cassettes, a lightweight 11s and a tighter ratio 12s. As the lightweight option the 11s cassette is intended for 1x use. You can have 2x12 10-45.

I’m hoping there has been actual advancement in the mud shedding of the new pedals. Maybe these match the “prototypes” we have seen under pro CX racers?

My old xtr m985 groupset is looking a little out dated now.
I am sure every hub manufacturer will offer a freehub before the end of the year.
I wonder if that freehub will make it over to Dura ace 9200 12 speed.

No, only Shimano and DT it seems, it's not an open standard this time

As I have understood it, please correct me if I am wrong, the micro spline thing is not propietary, it's open and anyone can use it. Now, the silence freewheel system from shimano, and the dt swiss, or king or... is propietary.
Let me know if this is correct. I do not see the chinese not selling hubsets for this cassette, one way or another.

I´m on a 970 XTR with grip shift from sram and 26". No more grip shift + shimano...
The silent freehub is a patented design, that will be a Shimano exclusive.
The spline is an open standard.
It was developed with colaboration / feedback from DT, hence DT has the headstart on all other manufacturers and it is directly compatible with their own freehub clutch mechanism as it is. Other manufacturers will get around to fitting the design to their hubs as soon as they think its viable a market or figure out how to fit their own clutch systems inside that is.
