Have Zipp changed the curve on their traditional bars?
Moderator: robbosmans
The issue is their diagrams really only apply to their carbon bars it seems. Their aluminum bars may have the same names but are definitely shaped differently than their carbon counterparts. The first picture in this thread does suggest that they are trying to fix that though.

I know the aluminium bars in the correct shape exist. Maybe like you say they've changed the shape to be more 'traditional' lately, and lots of companies are still selling stock from a while back?
Annoying this hasn't been addressed though because now I've got to play poker to try and get my hands on the right shaped bars.

I received a set that has the EXACT same bend as the SLC2 carbon traditional, however, it is not the same bend pictured in the original post either. So, apparently Zipp has 3 bends out there. I wanted a normal traditional bend, not the one I received.
Still, its not really a traditional bar and one can order these bars and potentially get one of 3 shapes. I'm a bit disappointed as I wanted the one's in the OP's picture and mine aren't even close.

I got bitten by exactly the same thing a year or so back.

I think the outcome was: The semi-ergo bend is what Zipp used to call 'Traditional' for their alloy bars.
They probably realised what a bunch of cycling n00bs it made them look, and made the bend more traditional again.

I gave up on this one. I phoned a number of distributors as apparently I can't contact Zipp themselves in this country. No-one knew anything. Never mind, I just got myself a different pair of bars anyway as I feel much more at home on 36cm bars.
