Best aggressive XC brakes?
Moderator: Moderator Team
Hi, I have a 2012 Yeti ASR 5 which I use mainly for XC racing. About 21lbs with XX1. Am taking to the mountains in Italy in the summer and will need to upgrade the brakes from the XX World Cups on it. Any suggestions for more power and not too much extra weight? Thanks

Don't forget to upgrade your rotors... The ones in your pic aren't doing you any favours..
XTR. You can also mount the shifter/lever together with this.

Formula R1 for weight effective, Shimano for the braking wth a little more weight. Noting that the Shimano Icetech option gives you the option to run slightly lighter discs when calculating weights!

+1 of the new XO TRAIL BRAKES. They are incredably powerful. I am running 160f/ 140r and have tons of power. There is no fade either. They seem to have fixed the issues because I have had mine for over 3 months with zero issues.
