Cervelo introduced NEW product, they need to show it to the customers. Be sure Ryder is ridding it ONLY because of marketing, not because he finds it better than Rca. You ll see during season, they will come back to R5s and Rcas.
That honestly makes absolutely no sense at all. Why would Cervelo prefer that you buy a cheaper model and "force" Slipstream riders to ride a certain bike to try and achieve that goal? That's ridiculous. The 2014 R5 is also a new model so what you're saying doesn't make sense in that respect either. Most likely they're just trying out the new options under race conditions before they settle into a preference in the higher profile races.
You say no sense, I say marketing.
There was like 399pcs of Rca to be produced, Cervelo already sold all of them thanks to Ryder ridding it from April 2013. Now, they put him on S3 on the flats to show the NEW baby. If there is no marketing behind, why isnt he riding the OLD but the FASTEST bike in the World, the S5? Dont worry, Ryder will be on R5 soon to sell another new baby.
Whatever You think, there are really good marketing guys at Cervelo. They know, how to sell bikes.

Are these Kask helmets picture the same helmet with slidable vent hole coverings built into the shell? Or are they two different helmets, or just a whole fully helmet covering?

Pretty snazzy really! I'm sure someone has done it in the past before so probably not as innovative as I'm thinking it is to be aero.
