New Cervelo Soloist Spotted...
Moderator: robbosmans
Seems like the best deal in the entire lineup. Would have gotten this instead over the 105 r7000 i got at the end of last year. Even to just sell the wheels, derailleurs, shifters and upgrade to di2 and your wheels of choice, I think it would be cheaper then the frame only

what is the price on the soloist 105 race model? cant seem to find anything about it online. i see mikes bikes has the 105 r7000 model reduced to about 2890$ ,(15%) i wonder if the framesets will ever get reduced as well. I was thinking of pulling the trigger on a 105 model and selling off the stock parts to fund my own choice in wheels/groupset
$5600 CAD (4300 USD). All depends on what r7000 groupset is going for locally vs r7100 mechanical and reserve wheels with zipp hubs. Where I'm at, you could probably sell the reserve wheels for min $1700CAD and 7100 groupset for 800 so a frameset plus the other bits like BB, handlebar... for $3100 which is cheaper then just the frameset ($3400). Besides the 105 race and the 105 r7000 builds I find the pricing for the rest of the lineup to not be much value. Much better to build it yourself vs getting the 105/ultegra di2 or force models.Dentaltechbiker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 4:10 amwhat is the price on the soloist 105 race model? cant seem to find anything about it online. i see mikes bikes has the 105 r7000 model reduced to about 2890$ ,(15%) i wonder if the framesets will ever get reduced as well. Thanks for that info, i will have to research my local market a bit more and consider the 105 race. definately not bad at 4300$. i totally agree on not much value in the higher end models, truth be told i dont think their are any high end new complete bikes today that interest me, particularly because i dont want a 12 speed groupset. I much prefer 11 speed groupsets still because on the second hand used market 11 speed groups are so much cheaper and lighter to their counterparts in 12 speed. combine a good deal on an 11 speed dura ace di2 with a nice set of chinese wheels and the whole bike build is lighter and cheapter than the midrange offering

Well, I've got a Felt with 11sp mechanical, rim-brake Red if you're interested. The frame has a cracked seatstay, so it'd be great for parts.Dentaltechbiker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 3:14 pmwwnero wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 5:05 am$5600 CAD (4300 USD). I don't think a rim brake groupset would work well unless they wanted to switch to mechanical disk brakes which I would not recommendtwoangstroms wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 5:18 pmWell, I've got a Felt with 11sp mechanical, rim-brake Red if you're interested. And this is exactly why I did an 11 speed build with wheels I had already.Dentaltechbiker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 3:14 pm

found a deal on a used 54cm frameset in alpenglow and pulled the trigger on it as well as other parts for my dream build. Im aiming for 6.5KG with pedals, bottle carges, computer mount ready to ride. (eventually) for now going to use some parts I have laying around/off my current bike and build it up to what i'd guess to be around 7 to 7.2kg ready to ride. Heres my recipe:
-54CM alpenglow frameset
-Full Dura Ace R9170 Di2 11 speed groupset
-Avian Falcan Bars in 400x110
-Drive 50D wheels with TPU ride now 19g tubes, dura ace 11-28 cassette, dura ace 140mm rotors front and rear (88g reach)
-120g carbon Ryet saddle from Aliexpress
-7g carbon bottle cages Ali Express (if these suck i have some nice 13g carbon ones from aliexpress that are tried and trued)
-EXS airtape
pretty excited to see what she comes in at. some ideas i have to go even lighter maybe down the line would be swapping elite drive 50D wheels out for CRW, swapping out dura ace cassette for Dbop cycling cassette, swapping to a 95g saddle, and maybe a lighter seatpost if any company decides to make one.
build pics to follow - just waiting on the avian falcan handlebars to come in.
Anyone happen to know what length rear shimano caliper bolts are needed ??(for shimano R9170 brake caliper) ?? the groupset I have came with some bolts that are much too short. online shimano has options of 25mm, 30mm and 35mm for bolts, any help is appreciated

When I built mine, I used the stock bolts that come w/ groupsets - 38mm, meant for a 25mm chainstay. How long are the bolts you have?Dentaltechbiker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 12:23 amAnyone happen to know what length rear shimano caliper bolts are needed ??(for shimano R9170 brake caliper) ?? the groupset I have came with some bolts that are much too short. online shimano has options of 25mm, 30mm and 35mm for bolts, any help is appreciated

get the aero bottle cages by Giant for the propel. They work fantastically well with soloist. and they are 60g for both(I weighed them myself), similar weight to the tacx one the Visma team bikes are using.
