ferrarista wrote:Hi Sleg. thanks dude. well i started off by cutting the big part with my dremel and then finished the edges with the old mighty powerful elbow grease haha. kidding.

i used dry/wet sand paper starting off with a lower grit to go faster and then a higher grit to make it smoother done all by hand. it takes time but it does the job well. by the way i used water with the higher grit sand paper so that it smooths out better and the paper lasts longer too.

i still have more work to do on it like making it slimer on the sides and enlarging a bit the central hole too.

Dohh. Looks like I'll have to unpack the elbow grease. Now... where did I leave it...

That saddle is rarely as advertised. I even think the advertised weight was raised to 135g so it would weigh what the SLR was suposed to weigh. Many have had weights inbetween 150-160g on the carbino. I weighed 3 in that weight range before i found one that weighed 134g.

What did you do with this one? Just take the "V" out or did you sand it down or something?

that one is not mine , but from what i can see, the sides are slimmer and he sanded the top plus the cutout .

LoL there is no secret to this. Don't remember what code was the paint. yes I painted myself. I used automotive paint and clear in cans with the gun nozzle on top for better control. I think it was ford silver.

its easy and does a good job if you take your time. I'm painting it black again and maybe i'll add some world champion stripes to spruce it up haha.
