Out of curiosity, is there a reason you're opposed to using an adapter based solution? I'm in the process of ordering a CAAD 12 frameset that I'll use with some Wheels Manufacturing adapters for an Ultegra 6800 crankset.

Kogel BBs are super quality. I use one one my BSA bike.
I use a Praxis on my bb30 bike with a Shimano crank. It's been foolproof for the last six months.

In an ideal world, bb30 would evolve into T47...

i do wonder what they make of the internet reputation/chatter about BB30.
I *really* hope Cannonade move to T47 (although i thought the necessity for an alloy sleeve would add weight)

Unless i saw a Supersix/CAAD at superdiscount I would feel it was too big a risk. And even at super discount i would still think i was
taking a large/possibly cost risk.

I can't be the only sale that Cannonade is losing solely on account of the reputation of BB30

I have a caad10 and running praxis bb30-24 conversion bb. It's been bullet proof. BUT they don't have a bb30a version. There are tons of solutions out there for the original BB30, so I wouldn't worry about it as a new customer. It's a different story with BB30a. Especially if you want to run shimano cranks.

A Wheels Mfg BB30 outboard BB http://wheelsmfg.com/bottom-brackets/bb ... ckets.html will, I think, fit into a 68 or 73mm wide shell, so presumably it would be okay in a 73 wide BB30a shell. Check with Wheels Mfg for confirmation.

The Praxis BB you currently run in your CAAD might also fit in a BB30a shell.

But unsure if your Shimano road crank would then fit in a 73mm wide shell.

BBInfinite makes a direct fit BB30A to Shimano BB.

Just my random thoughts on this:

1. All 3 aftermarket solutions proposed so far are sleeves that are pressed in with retaining compound. I'd be asking about ease of bearing replacement with all of them.

2. I'd consider the Praxis approach where the 2 sides screw together as being preferable. Perhaps if there is enough demand Praxis will offer a BB30a variant.

3 I predict T47 will never be more than a niche approach for Ti frames. The carbon frame manufacturers have no interest in going back to bonded in sleeves.

Spoke with Wheels Mfg and they said it wont work. Have to use their universal adapters for Shimano.

Kogel is a fantastic piece of hardware. Installed one in my Lynskey instead of the Praxis the build kit came with. All winter of wet and snow riding and not a peep of creaking. The BB30 BBs are notorious for creaking in the Lynskey ti shell.

The BB Infinite just looks like the Kogel and C-Bear but with the addition of a sleeve. It does not appear to be a thread-fit type like Praxis or Wheels Mfg.

Ditch the Shimano crank, man.

this is 42 mm, not the 46 mm required for a supersix

Wrong. According to this. It's BB30a not PF30
