Cervelo S5 Aero Drop Bar stem cable routing
Moderator: robbosmans
I'm looking at the new cervelo s5 aero drop bar. I seems to have a hole in the steerer clamp area.
It looks like you can push cables through there. Has anyone tried running cable through that hole into the stem?
I'm asking as I am thinking about getting the new venge with the through stem cable routing, and I need a flat bar. This seems like a great option and likely more aero than the specialized bar.

I have tried several different Aero bars to get the right fit and look and really like this one best by far. My is a replica tho and it does not have a hole in the center, but now that I know I like it I will run the cables inside of the bars.
Its a great shape, go for it.

@ KarlC - Can you send a picture of the bars that you have and also the stem that you are using. I want to use the TriRig stem but I do not believe there is room to run that stem with those bars.

How much space do you have from the front of the stem faceplate to the bar. want to run an aero stem on these bars but not sure how much room there is in that space where the stem faceplate goes.

I had the same thought on a aero stem, mostly because I wanted a square stem to match my frame.
The gap from my 3T stem to the bar is 1/4"
