Trying to get some parts coming for the merckx AXM but am Stumped on the seat tube size. The Eddy Merckx site list a "Seat Pin Size" of 29,4. Is this the size of the post or the down tube of the frame? I what size deraileur clamp?

It should be 35mm for Campagnolo or 34.9 with Shimano. Be careful when you mount it however. The clamp may cause some crimping as the seat tube may not be perfectly concentric in that area. You can solve the problem by shaving a little material away around the inside hinge area of the clamp (use a Dremel or something similar and polish it to smoothen the fit afterward).

Looking at Shimano Deraileurs it appears that 1-3/8" would be correct. Tell me if I'm wrong?
