They are the same, but Trek also makes a lighter version, available for sale. Last I checked, it was backordered.

We got a slr 10 at the shop. Petty impressive rig. The only thing I'm not keen on is the flimsy integrated bar/stem combo. Tune gum gum is meh. Ultrastar2 ftw. The vapor coat looks great, nice raw carbon look. Ours is a 54cm h1. I need to take it out one of these days. Was a show bike so the tires are not properly glued.

The lighter SLR 10 seat caps are not on back order (plenty in the warehouses, too), BUT it is sold w/o the head/ear kit (saddle rail clamp parts).
SLR 10 seat cap ($170 MSRP, 20mm setback)
135mm length - claimed 71g - part #W440937
175mm length - claimed 91g - part #W440938
SLR 10 lightweight head/ear kit ($30 MSRP)
For 7x9mm oversize rails - claimed 48g - $30 MSRP - part #W440961
This is the part that is on backorder for another month or so. I would assume that a normal head/ear kit (6g heavier) will be fine in the SLR cap if you already have one on your bike, but I can't be sure.
Thanks for clarifying that. I knew something was backordered. I've asked my local shop to order me one, but I'm waiting.

Thanks DerekV, this is very helpful information
Does anyone know how much lighter the SLR 10 seat cap / mast is vs the standard SLR version?

MNX1024 wrote:DerekV, do you know if there's a color choice for the seat cap?
The SLR one is only in black, with the little red bits in the unique seatmast clamp. The SLR head/ear kit has red ears. They are the exact same parts and colors that are stocked on the SLR 10.

There are two different caps for the current road bikes: the normal cap that is stocked on the non-SLR 10 bikes, and the SLR version which only comes stock on the SLR 10. The SLR version is claimed to be 50g lighter than its normal counterpart of the same length.

I was hoping to use these bars on my new bike build but haven't found one to view yet or seen any proper reviews.
Your comments are making me think twice though. Would you say they'd be less flimsy with a sub 60kg rider or should I start thinking about other options.... I was hoping for a light bar/stem combo and these seem to fit with that.
Got my ermonda slr. Very nice indeed but you can press the upper wall of the top tube in. It returns to normal of course but i am a bit concerned as it needs to be treated like an egg. I consider to buy a 3t bar and stem for it. Any thoughts on this?
scary...last tin can carbon frame was the early cervelo r3 ~2007..
btw did you weight the frame/fork. size?

LOL, last? Not even close!
Do the two of you think it is an outdated technology?
I do not have the weight of the frameset alone, as crankset and breaks were already installed
