Anyone here experienced issues with the rear derailleur hanger?
Mine came off on the first ride. Thankfully at a traffic junction so a slow one.
Checked and found that the bolts used to faster the hanger to the frame is so short.
Barely cleared the frame and therefore unable to tighten against the hanger.

Luckily no significant damage on the frame cause of it!!
Maybe I'm just unlucky but u guys might want to check it out just in case.

i've been thru this thread twice and whilst i keep getting distracted by lots of excellent stories/details and photos i don't think i saw that anyone had built this with camapg SR. i know the UT cranks don't work, but i presume i can put THM cranks with Praxis rings in and have that work with SR gear for FD and RD?

if anyone has any opinion on this (or better still has actually done it) i'd be very interested to hear.

thanks.

I'm running 2015 Super Record FD and RD with a Clavicula Compact crankset and Fibre Lyte chainrings. Works great.

Just checked mine and the two extra hangers I bought recently. Apparently the bolts come in two different lengths. If you happen to have the shorter version maybe some Loctite might be the way to go.

Mine came in the same lengths.
Both barely extended more than 2mm into the hanger body
Prob that's why it wasn't secure and came off after awhile.

Emailed AX no reply as yet.
Emailed Christian at Starbikes, he replied and will check with AX.
Pretty lucky that it didn't happen at speed else having the Rear D go into the wheel wouldn't have been nice at all!

Did I read somewhere that the rd hanger is supposed to be glued and screwed on and could only be replaced by factory? I'll check the website again...

Really? If anyone knows and can comfirm let me know.
From what I read and know it should be changeable. I actually managed to get longer screws from my LBS
And swopped them. It fits well now and I hope it remains that way. Have not taken it out for a ride yet though!

Still awaiting a reply from AX. Not too hopeful on getting one from them.
Contacted them via email and also facebook message/PM.
Think better chance starbikes will get one for me!

I ordered two spare hangers from r2-bike. They are pretty expensive but at least they came with the longer screws. The hanger itself is very easy to replace.

Thanks for the update and reassurance of that!!
.
Will probably test it out this weekend.
Hopefully works this time!

What's the widest tire clearance for the THM fork and the rear of the Vial?

I'm running Continental Competition 25mm tubs. Wouldn't go any wider than that.

If i am not wrong, i think the THM CT fork is specified for maximum 25mm tires. The 3T fork is optimal with 23mm but handles most 25mm tires.
I think you could say the rear works with 25mm.
I run 24mms now and it seems i could fit 25mm without problem.
