Last alloy bars were corroded baaaad. Trying these Easton ea70 bars before I pop on the carbon ec90slx. First impressions are I like the transition from bar to hoods, nice and flat. The weight on the other hand is no good. Carbon version sheds 80g.

Thought I'd try a few of Castelli's jerseys, Aero Race 5.1, and a 4.1 for longer rides when I need to stuff more food in the pockets or zip up some keys etc.






Had one ride this afternoon in the 5.1 and it's super comfy. Form fitting but not tight anywhere. Doesn't move around or bunch up anywhere and the lower collar means I can keep the zip done up without any irritation, damn near every other jersey I've had I only like riding with the zip a few cm down. Noticeable how much less flap there was over the shoulders and behind the neck than a normal jersey, which means less distraction. Still a pocket of looser fabric in front of the chest but it seemed to go away through the ride, either the material settling into place or maybe it just works better when it's sweaty

Got a downhill KOM on it first time out, but I think that's more from having figured out exactly where to sprint and where to tuck earlier this week

I got an about as ugly as you can get Colnago Master X-Light, needs help but not pass up this deal.

I'll be keeping the frame and the Dura Ace 25th Anniversary group, the rest must go.
