if he had heavier pedals on, it would spin longer.
My ceramic Claviculas dont spin like that

The bearings are standard bearings I bought on ebay, sealed, I think I paid 17.00 for 8, I"ve been using these cranks for 10 years and have learned to get them just right 
and the horror, I paid 135.00 for the cranks. stiff, easy to service and relatively light

My crank spins a lot like that. FSA Superlite w/Dura-Ace 7700 series BB and Speedplay pedals. It may be a little 'free' for my liking though. My BB is adjustable so I may need to go a tad tighter next time I service it.
Some may debate whether or not an unloaded crank spinning like that translates to better efficiency when loaded (ie with chain on and going down the road).

it probably doesn't, hence the integrated bb revolution.
you won't spin such crank that way, but they show nice advantage under load. i was able to spin fsa/isis cranks easily like those 'watchamacallits' - but they felt much 'tougher' to spin at ~35/40+ kmh
