Has anyone tried alpine.cc stuff? Mentioned in VN today. They seem to be one of several small, direct clothing manufacturers. Another local company in Bay area is Ornot. I have not tried either but the direct to consumer model makes more less expensive stuff (which does not really matter if the product is crap or the company is no longer in biz to support product issues). Anyone?
I've tried Ornot. I have the classic black jersey. I would give it an okay rating - not great not bad. The jersey is definitely slim fit and the fabric is nice and light; perfect for warm to hot conditions. The cons: the fit feels odd at the sleeves, it's like the sleeves were rotated when they were sewn. Second, the seams are scratchy. I bought mine in '14 so it may be different now.

Alpine must be in the middle of seasons or designs; two of the three kits are ~half off. Could not pass it up. If it sucks/does not fit well, they have a great return policy.

Rapha is my number one preference but I've just put in an order for some MAAP kit to see what it's like as I quite like the style.
