This was my 2010 TCR Advanced the day before the Byron Bay Triathlon
Without all the race cargo it weighed in at 8.18kg which surprised me very much when my CAAD10 came in under that stock.

Some of the bikes in this thread are way cool
When I first started out road biking I saw heaps of Giants down here in Australia, due to many of the LBS being mainly Giant stockists. I thought they were a bit common and basic looking, but this thread has shifted my opinion again - awesome bikes when built well. Personal fave is the one above. Lots of black
Just found this thread. I can't really keep up with some other WW's but i'm having a good time on my 2009 TCR Advanced.
With classics/training wheelset, heavy but durable and comfortable.
Crappy phone pic, this was just after racing it from Rotterdam to Eindhoven in NL. The bike did its job perfectly regardless of the weather conditions, i got 2nd place.
Over the winter I'm contemplating some upgrades or a whole new bike as has been suggested. First a set of black Nokons shiftcables.

how do you think these frames ride.
whats the reason for no tape on the ends of the bars.

I'm very happy with the frame although the standard fork with carbon steerer would be welcome. As for handling, it is stiff and responsive. I can imagine it's a lot harder ride than the ISP version but I'm not having any problems although I ride it with a Selle Italia SLR ti. The thing i like the most is that it just goes where you want it to go, wether climbing or ascending, the front wheel seems to follow your thoughts.
The lack of bartape on the drops doesn't really have a reason, it's more of an aesthetic idea. I don't use the drops very often at that point and when I do I don't miss the tape so I left it this way.

Anyone got one of the new Defy Advanced SLs?
I had the chance to give the bikes a good look over and the defy is definitely a nice bike but I don't want to be stuck using a Giant stem on a 1-1/4" steerer tube. They should have left it at 1-1/8" so nobody would have to use that brick of carbon for a stem.

Hey Jah, what size is that giant? What did you build it up with?
@mh 1 - its a size small frameset and aside from the FSA crankset drivetrain group are Ultegra 6700 grey.
@domo - thanks man!
