I placed an order for a CAAD 9 BB30 yesterday, and it should be here in 4-6 weeks. Until then I'm still undecided about some components. I want it to be lighter than my current CAAD 8, but am on a budget, and want it to be stiffer than my CAAD 8.
FYI, there has been several people asking about how to get the frame. This is not a team buy, it's an individual buy. I assume the part numbers are the same overseas. I believe its black with red lettering? and white with red lettering. Correct me if I'm wrong on the black color.
part number is 9ARA95S54WHT
The bolds are variables.
54 on the end is for a size 54cm
and the WHT is the color white. If you want black in 56 it would be:
9ARA95S56BLK
As far as the price's in the US its 799$USD for frame/fork/headset.
Heres a proposed build list:
Frame- white CAAD 9 BB30
Fork- cannondale six ultra
Crankset- Cannondale SI SL
Handlebar- Pro Vibe 7s round
Stem- Pro Vibe 7s OS
Seatpost- Pro Vibe 7s alu
Saddle- Selle italia Flite team edition
Pedals- Look keo cromoly
Shifters- Dura Ace 7900
Brakes- Dura Ace 7900
FDerailleur- Dura Ace 7900
RDerailleur- Dura Ace 7900
Chain- Ultegra
Cassette- Ultegra 12-27
Wheels: 08 Reynolds DVUL; Edge 68 clinchers; Ultegra/Open pro 32 spoke.
I'm not sure what I can change to make lighter without changing the price too much. My CAAD 8 with Reynolds DVUL weighs 7.35kg.
Lighter saddle, seatpost, fork? Does anyone know what the white painted fork weigh on the CAAD 9-5?
Thanks Starnut for the part numbers.
Heres the color of the frame, fork.

Looks like a solid build to me.
My only two suggestions:
Ultegra chain ---> KMC X10SL
Ultegra 12-27 ---> Dura-Ace 7800 12-27 on closeout by many shops online.
(Why 12-27, are you running 53/39 crankset? Why not run 50/34 and save some weight and use a smaller cassette in the back?)
Also...
What is Pro Vibe? components?

Ill check out those two things.
I'm using a 12-27 b/c I can't climb, along with a standard because when I'm racing I won't ever really need a 34. Plus the shifting is a lot better on a 39/53.
STARNUT: WHen did the BB30 CAAD 9s become a standard order not just a team order? Did I miss something in the last month or two??

I am hoping to purchase a caad 9 this year, but cost is an issue. Though I have cycled regularly for the past 10 years (mostly mountain, touring, and now fixie), this will be my first serious road bike. From what I've read on this forum and elsewhere, it looks like BB30 is the way to go. But given that I can't do a frame trade-in, and that I would have to pay for all my parts from scratch, I'm concerned about the price tag. If I just went with the caad9 5 from my LBS in DC, it would run me about $1400. What would it cost me to do a custom build on a BB30 frame with a similar Shimano 105 setup? Given that I intend to ride this frame for as long as possible, it sounds like BB30 might be worth the extra up-front cost, but I welcome any thoughts or suggestions on this issue. Also, if I order the frame separately, is it generally possible to get my components as a package from my LBS, or am I better off assembling everything myself by purchasing separately online?
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes, I think this became official in the last few weeks. Go to your shop and ask!

@TurboKoo:
yeah, I'm pretty sure mine will come with a white fork, according to my bike shop at least.
@bibimbopper
the cost for a BB30 frameset (frame, fork, headset) is $799. The SISL crankset is about $700. The cheapest BB30 crankset I could find was FSA Gossamer for about $225
@santabarbara
When I went to my LBS they had no clue there was a BB30 CAAD 9. I had to tell them a part number and get them to call cannondale and ask inquire about it. So if you ask your LBS and they say there isn't a CAAD 9 frame don't believe them.

Google can tell you all you need to know
I see. I heard of PRO before, but not "vibe" I thought "PRO vibe" was a new company.

Thanks for the info; I have been waiting for them to make the BB30 CAAD9s available to public for a while now.
I wonder if they will make a tapered headtube/fork for this frame if I wait a little longer...
