My Commencal VIP Flame
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi all
This isn't my first Commencal but I thought I'd let you have a look at this one as I've just finished building it.
It's a 2008 VIP Flame I'm over the moon with how its turned out. Here are the specs:
Frame: Commencal VIP Flame
Forks: 2008 RockShox SID Team
Wheelset: Mavic Crossmax SLR Disc
Tyres: Continental Speed King Supersonic
Tubes: Stans Notubes
Brakes: Formula Oro Puro
Handlebars: Easton MonkeyLite SL
Stem: Thomson Elite
Seatpost: Thomson Masterpiece
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR XC
Shifters: Sram X-0
Rear Mech: Sram X-0
Front Mech: Shimano XTR
Crankset: Shimano XTR
Pedals: Shimano XTR
Weighs in at just under 22 lbs, I know it isn't a super duper light build, but I'm happy with how it turned out, and I really wanted a Commencal.
More Pics are available here if you want them: http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee197/wtf1991/Commencal%20VIP%20Flame/?start=all
So what do you think?

I think it looks very nice, very clean! Maybe it looks even cleaner when the Sid has green stickers matching the frame?

Yeah, unfortunately the team fork doesn't come with green decals, and the red was the best match due to the hubs. I think it still looks pretty good though, I can see the white paint job being hard to keep clean though!

Thanks, I'm really happy with it. The components are pretty light in general as well as good performers, I think the bulk of the weight comes from the frame, weighing in at 1775 grams! and the wheels aren't as light as Mavic claimed, although they were still quite a bit lighter than the SL's they replaced.
