My Caad10
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Built this up yesterday with parts from my old bike (aluminum Ridley Pegasus) and took it for a nice ride today. Weighed in at 16.94lb with pedals. Should be perfect for collegiate racing.
Updated ride after many iterations:
Hope you like it.
Old build:
Caad10 3 frameset sz 54
2010 Sram Force (used Wheels MFG adaptor for crank, swapped out chainring bolts for KCNC alloy, 52t and 34t chainrings)
KMC X10SL chain
Custom wheels (Velocity a23 rims on White Industries hubs and Sapim Race spokes, brass nipples)
SRAM PG-1070 11-26 cassette
3T ARX Pro -17 110mm stem
3T Ergonova Pro handlebars
Fizik Antares saddle
Cannondale c2 seatpost (surprisingly nice design, still debating if I'm going to replace it)
Arundel Cork bartape
Arundel Mandible cages
Shimano SPD-SL 105 pedals
In ride garb.
update:
got fitted and cut the steer tube

Nice bike, I'm still amazed at how good these frames are, I just got the same CAAD10 3 Frames a week or so back, built it up with 7900 and can't fault it.
Again, nice bike. Enjoy it.

excellent! just cut that steering tube and its perfect.
Looks great... But I would cut the steerer tube ASAP. The expander and top cap won't support carbon steerer tube walls when you tighten the stem bolts.

Very nice, I'm hoping to do something similar.
How do you find the wheelset, and what size tyres are you running? I'm toying with rebuilding my fixed wheelset with the a23's.
Cheers.
@secteurpave Thanks, I've been waiting a while to get a caad10 frameset since when I called Cannondale about EPing one, they told me the frames wouldn't be available until late Sept or Oct. Luckily, my manager offered to sell me his that was just laying around haha.
@Greenduck and cl9k24la I'll probably cut it within the next couple days once I get my fit rechecked, but I think I only need some minor adjustments before it's ready.
@wojchiech I know what you mean haha, I was rushing to swap my tires and cassette on after work and really didn't pay attention to the tire labels. Eventually I'll get some carbon tubs, but it'll probably take me a little while.
@Hugo7 This was my first long ride on the wheels and I'm very happy. I'm running 23mm gp4000s and the ride feels very smooth and even better than on my old narrow rim wheels using 25's. They're not the lightest at 1600 grams but I'm extremely impressed with the way they handle and ride.

Very nice and sensible build.
From an aesthetical point of view (if that really matters to you), I don't like the chainrings so I'd change those to black standard rings. A Low stack headset cap with a less angled stem would make it look better too.

I was thinking about doing that but I'll probably have to do it in the future when I can afford to spend more on it, but for now I have to save up more money since school is about to start again.
Eventually I think I'll get the Stronglight chainrings and probably a Deda 82 degree stem, but for the headset cap I have to go through Cane Creek

Very nice, sensible racing build.
Was looking at a CAAD 10 in my LBS the other day and must say that I was mighty impressed.
Nothing humble about it all, my friend.
Race the heck out of it!
