My Addict Limited 2007 frame got deliverd this week with a in my opinion a crack in the top tube.

you can see where the light falls on the crack, but the clearcoat is unharmed and there is no edge to be felt.

What do think wat caused this?, shipping or fabrication fault.

thanks

Sorry for off-topic, but my eye just quickly caught the words "crack" and "addict" from the topic and I was for a moment a bit confused... :D

Dear Tim Swarthoff,

Many thanks for your inquiry and your interest in Scott Sports. We are sorry that your new bike is not at your complete satisfaction. I would go back to your dealer where you purchased the bike and ask for a replacement. Your dealer can help you with any warranty cases and return back the frame to us if necessary. Please don’t forget to take your receipt with you.

Despite of all I hope that you will have fun with your new bike.

First we have dopers in the PRO peloton and now crack addicts. What's this sport comin' to?
Sorry I couldn't help myself on this one.
Hope you can get the problem sorted out.

Definitely take it to a dealer. It certainly looks like a crack.

How frustrating...I'm loving mine....and to keep you off yours is cruel. Best wishes for a speedy resolution.
Updated: Racing again! Thought this was unlikely! Eventually, I may even have a decent race!

I would say it could, but might not be a crack.

Nobody here can tell you anything else...

Get the frame to your dealer ASAP and inform the dealer directly if you have not already. This could simply be a shipping claim as well...

Your dealer can tell you it's fine, meaning they take responsibility for it's condition. If not, they can sort out a new frame and they can deal with the shipping company for a possible damage claim.

Begs the question, who did you buy it from and what did your dealer say??
