XX transmission crank on XTR groupset?
Moderator: Moderator Team
My wife has a mechanical GX eagle groupset. I put on the new Transmission XX power meter crankset a couple months back and recently ended up with a new XTR groupset (derailer, shifter, chain, cassette). My question is, would the Transmission XX crank/chain ring work with the XTR cassete/chain?
I could drop a couple hundred grams if I switched out her GX groupo for the XTR groupo but really love the sram carbon cranks..

You mean the thread mount power meter chainring, right?
Try to put Shimano 12 speed chain (quick link one is the narrowest link, so test that link) on the Sram X-Sync tooth and you might know the answer.
On the old Eagle, it could work if the chainring is a bit worn. But at full new, the quicklink one likely stick to the chainring tooth a bit too well that it cause chain suck at some chain line (angle).
Transmission chainring may change that somewhat, but I haven't test it so I can't say if it works. I can only tell you what to look for on a test.
