Just throwin it out there: we're gonna rely on Canyon to design a whole new seatpost (and frame interface) that functions correctly?yinzerniner wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 10:17 pm...But even a not so long D-Shaped seatpost can provide comparable levels of flex as the double leaf spring if designed correctly, even when not a lot is exposed. ...
Also the double leaf spring design of the Ergon/Canyon posts are prone to some fitment/sizing and slipping issues - that's why they supply it with a carbon shim.

love the full internal cable routing on that bike! any updated news about this bike?
It is not fully internal, as you can see in other pictures. The cables are routed out of the handlebar, directly beneath the stem and into the headset. Clearer pictures ca be found over here https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/canyon- ... t-18766867justkeepridin wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 12:41 amlove the full internal cable routing on that bike! any updated news about this bike?
Not a great picture but yeah, looks like Jasper will definitely race it at Unbound

- direct mount for a speedmax like flatbar
- mounting option under the top tube seems to be for a frame bag..

They already make the hideous front frame bag for the current Grail https://www.canyon.com/en/gear/accessor ... 01610.html
I like that they are at least moving to bolts to replace some straps, but isn't that shape pretty awful aerodynamically? Wouldn't a front triangle bag be better? Or even the box cube makes for their litening C62?

At first glance, looks a bit like Ultimate on steroids.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

That's been mentioned a few times already in this thread
Also funny how that article rerencez Ben Delaney as the source, since he used to be at Bike Radar until I believe he was let go
From his extensive vids/pics:
-like the Sram UDH
-bars have a distinctive anchor/hammerhead shape, even though not as wild as the Coefficient
-also the bars have a tight bend and flare out a lot. The flare doesn't seem to be multi angle/varied, so the shifters take on the tilt of the drops instead of staying more vertical. Or maybe it's just that every pro rider in the vid now uses severely tilted shifters
-good number of mounting points
-looks to have some sort of rubber or plastic gasket around the hoses after they go down through the cutout of the top cap.
-would be surprised if tire clearance was rated for anything bigger than 700x42mm with 6mm clear. The rear looks especially tight, and even the fork crown is moderately close to the tire compared to other forks
-no flip chip for adjusting wheelbase or fork rake. UDH doesn't allow for it in read I believe
-don't see any fender/rack mounts
-interesting that the 1x aero chainring works with the Eagle transmission chain, RD and cassette. Sram said at release that Transmission requires a 55mm chainline (52mn road equivalent, since the rear hub on road is 142mm vs 148mm mtb boost), and Sram red axs crankarm only comes in 145 or 147.5mm in limited, Lauf-only custom guise
