I always assumed that Direct Mount hanger standard don't work well with cogs smaller than 11t which could explain why Sram didn't used it with Eagle, Campagnolo didn't with Ekar but does with 12sp road group and Shimano don't use it with MTB 12s group.

Whatever happened to Shimano’s DM idea? Very nice X-Horizon derailleur BTW
Shadow derailleurs compatible with Direct Mount have their main pivot point offset from the derailleur hanger eye. I think 1x derailleurs require a main pivot point concentric to the hanger eye, so Shimano moved it back to the old position for their latest 1x12 systems. Note: I mean pivot point position only, not 'deraulleur position'. So it's not as if they moved the entire derailleur forward.

A long time coming but the current Saint kit works incredibly well and is pretty damn bullet proof.
I was looking at my old DH bike from 2003 a couple of weeks ago, running a Dura-Ace cassette and rear Mech...@ good set up back then.

The GRX 1x rear derailleur is a direct-mount design

Any updates on 7-speed Saint?
Really keen on knowing... M820 has been on the market for over 10 years now lol.
Do you think the 7-speed cassettes will have a nice cassette spacer on the back, a bit like the SRAM DH cassettes?
