Snapped this one while out on the gravel roads in east Texas, near Chappell Hill, this Saturday.

Nice. While it started out cold, Saturday turned out to be a nice day for riding. Pretty sure the wife and I have ridden that stretch of road near Chappell Hill as well.

It was definitely chilly when we started, but we had to Rule #5 that one, because I’ve gotta up my mileage!

You doing Prison City next weekend?

Afraid not, retired from all racing after CX Worlds in 2013/2014. Not to mention neither the wife or I are big on huge crowds, not to metion these events kind of defeats the purpose as we ride gravel in order to 'get away from it all'.

That's true. I'm going all in on gravel this year. Let's see how it goes!

We had summer in the last days – in western Switzerland. Used it to cycle some 350km in three days, most of them yesterday on a 235km loop through the alps and around the lake. Had a bike fitting last week, now with very different cleat position and even more bar drop, but it worked out fine.

While the weather in UK continues to be phenomenally wet, windy and generally unattractive, here's a few more from the archive. This is stage 16 of the 1990 Tour de France, I think on Luz Ardiden in the Pyrennees.

That's Claudio Chiappucci middle left, in the yellow jersey he would soon lose

No shades! No helmet! It's a mystery how they managed.

Cool photo's!
Belgian champion in the first picture is Claude Criquelion.
The 2 PDM riders are Raul Alcala and Erik Breukink.
The Z rider could be Jerome Simon:

Felt really like spring today. All day without any gloves. Not that much. But the small things made the difference. Image

The end wasn't that cool. I lost one crank... Luckily near the house of an uncle Image we could fix it for the last 20k
