I'm in the same camp there. I can't see anytihng on the dropper that would hold it in the locked position and I definitely wouldn't want to hold my thumb against the lever while sprinting.
I can echo the sharp concern. Last year I race XCM in the Yukon and broke my thumb by chipping the knuckle in a fairly minor crash, just because I bumped into the remote. It is lovely to look at though!
