Cannondale Slate - anybody else excited?

Especially for light weight issues concerning cyclocross / touring bikes & parts.

...Indeed my obsession too at the moment. My friend who works at the local Cannondale store advised me that Cannondale is currently out of my size in the CX1 model. I'm such a loser. Should have jumped on it. Gotta sell the 16' Focus Mares first.

Can't hardly wait :)

Just spoke to my Cannondale dealer, and I will receive my bike next week. I ordered the small SLATE Ultegra version.

I'll be running Surly Knard Tire on this bike, since this will be my main off-road bike, while the EVO will be my go-to race bike. Can't wait!!!

Totally forgot about this thread.

But I got short rest ride on a Slate earlier this week. Having not really ridden a lefty bike before, It felt left side heavy & turning left it wanted to lean over more. Maybe just my mind playing tricks on me. Fork was stiff AF though.

I am still excited, been told some should arrive just in time before xmas. Just not the model I ordered. :(

Picked mine up this weekend. Ultegra, size L.
Maybe first ride tomorrow or Tues. Things are a bit hectic these days.

So I just picked mine up this afternoon - SMALL ULTEGRA

Couple things I noticed:

-When I ordered the bike, the spec for the ULTEGRA on website was with CARBON seat post. Cannondale changed the specs recently on the website, so the Ultegra model now comes with the Alloy post instead of the CARBON one...wtf!!! I received the one with ALLOY post.

- Tires are tubeless ready but when it arrives it came with tubes. Easy fix!

- The paint on the frame is probably the nicest I've ever seen on any Cannondale bikes.

All brands deliver their tubeless ready wheelsets and tires with tubes. So much easier to pack and to have standing in a store.

If anyone, or a few people, are feeling particularly generous, could you please measure the ERD of the rims?

Mine's not due until late January otherwise I'd do it myself...

Can you measure ERD in a spoked wheel?
