I guess this is the end of an era. Shapeways today filed bankruptcy and ceased operations. No idea if anyone is interesting in buying the assets. So I am going to assume it is done for good. I will try to find another 3D print service bureau, but none that I know of had the marketplace Shapeways had.

This came with no warning to the many creators, like myself, that used their marketplace platform.
Wow, that's a huge suprise. Please update here when you've secured a new source for your mounts.

If you ever wanted to mount your Varia sideways, I built this mount for someone. I have permission to report the images here.
This is exactly how I want to mount my Varia.... did you ever post this model for sale? I could not find it on Shapeways.
Yep, it is here;
http://shpws.me/SMi8n or this link; https://www.shapeways.com/product/LPX35 ... unt-insert
Is this still avalible on Shapeways? I tried to purchase and get an error message at checkout.I googled the error and see that Shapeways filed for bankruptcy. Any other way to get this Varia mount or purchase the STL file?

Please keep us posted on a new 3d print vendor. I tried to buy one of your Varia mounts yesterday on Shapeways and didn't know they are out of business until I got an error during the checkout and started looking into the error message.

The mount I want to purchase > Mathieu's Custom Canted SWAT Varia Mount Insert

Let me know if we can work out something on the file or another way I can purchase the printed item.

I've just moved house and I'm yet to setup my 3D printer again, but I'd be happy to offer a print service to UK WWs in a month or two.

I placed the order on the 28th of June.... and it just stuck in production status, guess I'll never get it. So please let me know if I can purchase it from you in anyway, printed or printable file.
Thanks and take care.

Hi Michael, are you able to print stuff in the UK again now?

A few further questions to anyone who might be able to help: The 3d printed headset spacer supplied with my Avian Falcon cockpit to fit my Caledonia 5 snapped in two while riding yesterday. Panda Podium have been kind enough to send me the STL file for the adaptor. So:

1) Can anyone identify the material that was used for the original print and suggest something that might be stronger?

2) the STL file is for a one piece adaptor but I'd really like to not disconnect and reroute the hoses when refitting, so could I turn the design into a 'split' or two piece adaptor? Would it still be strong enough?

That is SLS printed by the looks of it. FDM ABS printed in the correct orientation would be stronger. I can print this if needed.

Changing the design to be a split design would be a lot of work sadly.

I also have the ability to 3D print things.

Would be a black PC-ABS blend or ABS.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure why I didn't get notified about them.

I've now replaced the broken spacer with a standard round one and in doing so discovered that the reason the original broke was because of the wedge that sits inside the stem to fill the space created by using a standard round hole stem with a D shaped steerer. The original spacer was designed for the D shaped steerer but the wedge is slightly too long (you might be able to see protruding below the stem slightly it in the picture above) and this has obviously put a lot of pressure on the front of the spacer.

Anyway, I've found someone who has split the spacer design in two for me and put some pegs in the design to hold the two pieces together. They're going to print it for me in PETG and I'll see how I get on with that.

Unfortunately I'm not setup yet, my garage has a leaking asbestos roof and I'm pretty much resigned to demolishing the whole thing. No space for a workshop right now :|
