I'm having trouble fastening my discs on my dt-swiss centerlock hubs. They have 9mm qr's and I'm told to get the hubcap out before I fasten the lockring with a normal cassette-lockring-removing-tool.
If I don't remove the hubcap, I can't get my tool far enough in the lockring to get enough grip to loosen (or tighten) the discs...
Were they correct? And how do I get the hubcap off?

Best thing to do is to go to a shop and get a new, current lockring tool. It will have a deeper bore to go over hub endcaps and still reach the splines.
