Is this the 1st aero road bike ever?

1980's Gitane for Bernad Hinaut
Pretty close to Cervelo S5 :thumbup:

That was the team bike of renault-elf-gitane. Used from 1978-1983. It was not the first aero road bike though this was.http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/09/ ... ike_140221

Yes, I would say the first aero track bike could not be the first aero road bike #readingcomprehension

Yes, I think it was the first seriously used aero road bike, although it was only used for timetrails by the riders of the Renault-Gitane team.

I can tell you first hand that it is seriously streamlined too:

During the late 70's I had a Nishiki Aero-----wasn't really high end but all the tubing was definitely Aero tubing----nice bike but flexy if I remember right.

Is it meant to be more aero with the frame pump, like the P4 is faster with its bottle? Uci would probably frown on this bike as well...
