Seems as though the UCI is at least trying, hopefully the omerta of pro cycling is at an end.

Wonder if a singular Schleck can turn it around this year? Hopefully a change of pace and race schedule will finally let the Andy compete at the top level again!

@millarmind: Deactivating my Twitter account. It's been fun. I need to actually start doing stuff. Adieu!

about disc brakes on road bikes, that's what a little italian wheel maker told me: Uci biggest sponsor is Shimano. Shimano still has to develop and promote a road disk brake. So Uci is still waiting to give the green light to disc brakes fo road bikes.
As soon as Shimano gives the nod, the Uci will say yes to disc brakes for the road.

and it will not be for 2013

So did I. Sister Fran gave some background yesterday.
BTW Sky should let her handle more of the communications stuff. They've been rather helpless lately.

She does look after much of their comms and media stuff, that is part of the reason they have been in such a mess lately. She's good at communicating the 'we're winning, aren't we great' stuff, not so good at the whole 'we messed up our zero tolerance policy and employed a load of people with dodgy backgrounds' stuff.

She was away on sick leave when Sky did their latest foot in mouth exercise, though.

Fat Pat's Open Letter http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/11/news/an-open-letter-from-pat-mcquaid-to-the-riders-on-the-postal-service-scandal_265021

I stopped reading after the "We are aware that some riders have complained publicly that despite having shared knowledge with the UCI, there was an inadequate follow-up. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that the UCI did act on information provided in the past and it will always do so in the future, within the bounds of what is legally feasible" paragraph.
