Engineers are getting smarter with advancing design, materials and manufacturing technologies. It's only a matter of time before someone comes out with an even lighter and with decent stiffness 100mm stem for 31.8mm bars than the 82 gram Extralite Roadstem OC. :roll:

Just kidding... okay, so maybe that face plate isn't responsible for amazing mass numbers. (unless those are steel bolts)
