I like Pogi, but his win today does not change the fact yesterdays sprint was unnecessary

Fantastic stage today. And what a performance by Pog. Today he raced clever. It seemed like a very good tactic sending Yates up the road in the final 5 km. It looks more and more like he is going to take his third TDF.

But it's not over yet. It looks like though that JVs only chance to win is if Pog breaks. Let's not hope that happens. But let's hope the race stays exciting.

Big day tomorrow. Pog is going to put UAE on the front and drill it and try to repeat today.
This week is crucial for Pog to get as much time as possible.

Remco going to lose big time tomorrow, I suspect Rodriguez will be close to 3rd GC when the smoke clears.

Weird that spectator throwing chips at Pog and Vingo...

Considering Remco lost less than 30s on Jonas, I think he did fairly well for his first outing! Unless he bonk majorly, he pretty much secure his podium today with 4th place way way back. Still has TT to make up for any mishap too. If he rides smart (which he seems to be doign this Tour) pacing himself steadily, he should be fine. 3rd in GC, still better than most climbers that's not Tadej or Jonas in this race.

It continues to be interesting. Another huge effort by the leader with a few harder stages to come. They have been using Yates the last couple days and I wonder how much he will have left for the upcoming stages. Visma is the only GC team with all riders remaining and today it looked like they are, once again, saving for a future stage. I think Visma has their eye on tomorrows stage and UAE cant stop seizing any and all moments. Jonas still looks good as a possible overall winner. Interesting tactical game from two different perspectives. Fun stuff
But what stage? Today (S15) has a 20km downhill before the final HC so I can't see many fireworks happening. I think UAE will play it safe today... unless they see the weakness in VLaB. I haven't watched every minute of every stage, but their domestiques look weak and often JV is left on his own halfway up climbs when Pogacar still has 2-3 helpers. If JV gets isolated today Pog might try something again, but I think the parcours isn't favourable.

Stage 17 is my pick for a decisive blow from Pogacar. Du Noyer is short and steep. If UAE can get JV on his own on Bayard, Tadej has a great chance to use his explosiveness and descending in the final 20km.

Re: Remco... if he can just hang on for the rest of the mountains I'd say he has a solid podium shout, maybe even a darkhorse for Yellow (he's 40/1 for the win) if the top 2 start looking at each other or crack big time. If the final TT was flatter/longer who knows. Maybe the ASO will take some notes from this year and try to mix it up more

Sure... but it's still an HC finale in a 200km stage with 4,800m of categorised climbing on the last day of week 2.

If that's not tough enough I don't know what is! If either of them is slightly off and the other one on the scope for time loss is huge.
