Building the perfect travel tool kit

A few years ago I was doing a long distance event abroad, and my seatpost slipped after going over some bumpy road.
I stopped at a feed station and asked the service crew if they had carbon paste. The mechanic did some teeth sucking and shook his head, before waking his assistant (it was the middle of the night) and they started talking in Swedish (which I don't understand). The assistant, I think it was his son, got up and disappeared only to reappear a few minutes later with toothpaste.
And yes, it worked.

That's a great story, and your bike smelled minty fresh for a long time.diecast wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 7:29 amA few years ago I was doing a long distance event abroad, and my seatpost slipped after going over some bumpy road.

Toothpaste is a real multitool. I remembered using duct tape to fix a broken fender to get home somehow)A few years ago I was doing a long distance event abroad, and my seatpost slipped after going over some bumpy road.

You are very well versed on repairing a bike, I can tell because you like to take a lot of tools and supplies with you, nothing wrong with that, but for me personally the weight I have to carry on a backpack or on a bike is crucial, so I only take minimal stuff.

If you travel by car/van, just take a second bike. If you are a real cyclist you have N+1 .... problem solved.
But I was addressing your comment.TheBelgian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 pmI'm not the topic starterfroze wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 5:52 pm

Problem is you deleted your post, or most of the content that was in your post, and you can sit there and deny deny deny, but the fact is you deleted most of it, because still left is the response that liam7020 said when he agreed with me was concerning what you listed as all the stuff you take with you.TheBelgian wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 4:58 pmNowhere did I list what I take with me, so I don't know where you're coming from.froze wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 2:32 amBut I was addressing your comment, so your laughing at yourself.TheBelgian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 pmI'm not the topic starterfroze wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 5:52 pm

Pretty sure liam7020 talked about OP's list. I never wrote one
