For those willing to go full WW and scrap paint there is 33g to win.

313.5 for the 380x110 stock
278.5 sanded and with 2 layers of clear coat.

Nice work there. What was your process exactly?
Please don’t take me as a reference, there are many forum members who are experts on the field but it that was a good learning.

To start I was not brave enough to try with a blade and went with 350 sand paper (dry). Main post mort learning is that the layer of paint / clear coat / primer is very irregular. Very thick on the stem where they need to smooth a lot the junction, thin on the drops. Seeing little progress on the stem I switched to 150 and that has been too agressive for some parts where I clearly went through the first carbon layer.

The connection with the bends has quite some filler and trying to remove it to have a clean aspect I also went through the first layer in some parts. I am not too concerned cause they are parts where you have the male and female parts overlaying so thicker.

Once I understood it better I switched back to 350 dry, then 600 wet and 1000 wet and 2000wet. Somehow managed to not leave scratches from the 150

The problem with the wet is not really seeing what you are sanding it all looks black. On occasions I revert back to dry sanding to remove spots of clear coat since it makes white dust when you are not sanding carbon I had the feeling to better control what I was doing.

On the clear coat I had issues to spray it even so I sanded it twice before getting 2 nice layers.

Edit: I started under the stem and it is quite a mess with quite poorly placed carbon layers… it confused me a lot trying to understand what I was doing, places have 3k, others pieces of UD in a bit “random” way.

I have received my F1x and the raw carbon look fits really nicely to my bike. The OD1 spacer was surprisingly ok, but not perfect since it left a bit of steerer beering uncovered. I got some nice 3d print spacers, which already combine 1 standard spacer and the OD1. Final pictures will come soon :)

Weight savings are 50% accounted by a much lighter Wahoo mount.
Hi, can you check the stack hight of the F1X stem - is it the usual 40mm? Many thanks.

Hi, would you be able to repost the first two pictures? They don't seem to show up properly (all black images on my side).

Also do you have any pics of it installed on your bike?

These are on my shortlist as well. Thank you.

Hi, stack height is 40mm. I am surprised after riding it a couple of times about 2 things.
The tubes at the drops is quite thin/narrow -> thicker bar tape could be used than before.
The stiffness is crazy, before I had an 3T Ltd Team carbon with standard Procraft ST2 stem and this had a lot more flex.

If someone is interested in the 3D printed all-in-one spacer for "standard" bike frames, just post it - I have the files somewhere :)

Excitement turned into a bit of a disappointment. Placed an order for the Farsports F1X handlebar last 4/26 from Panda Podium, it's the only remaining component that I need to complete my new build. They confirmed they have one last piece available on stock for my size and it will be shipped by 4/28 or 4/29..it would have arrived by now with my proximity to China. Then came the bad news, they're now saying that it doesn't have the "correct finish" and it needs to be reprocessed or repainted by the manufacturer. With no one answering from customer support as staffs are probably out due to holidays or will attending the upcoming Shanghai bike show, looks like it's gonna be few more weeks of waiting for it to be done, shipped, and delivered.

I just find it strange though why would an F1X with a "wrong finish" end up in the inventory of available items ready for ordering/shipping. Was planning to go on vacation with my new bike a week from now but looks like it's all ruined. Anyways, I'll be patient enough to wait as long as as they send me the right product for the premium price I paid. I would like to think this is an isolated case, don't know if it's a lapse on the part of Panda Podium or Farsports. Nothing against them, if they read this..just sharing a feedback so they can further improve on service, diligence, and satisfaction for their eager customers like us. Thanks and sorry if it sounds off topic here.

Worth looking the bar's weight once you have it... to ensure they haven't resprayed a second layer of "paint" on top of the faulty one.

appreciate the suggestion mate  i trust they'll make it right..but yah, it does make sense to check it's weight maybe even better to ask for a pic before they ship it..i did find a reference weight from another authorized distributor for exactly the same model and size i ordered, this should help validate..

Anyone have an experience with both the Farsports F1s and also the EXS Aerover?

I am currently on the Aerover, love it a lot, but thinking to get a longer stem length, as always EXS is constantly out of stock and it's at least 200 dollars more expensive than the F1s.

I am considering the 380*110 for the F1s, reach and drop is largely similar, though the 'Farsports' decal strip across the bar is not my favorite...

Any thoughts between the two? Are they similar in shape and feel?

Absolutely different stories, I’ve got both.
380/90.
Exs:
-shorter reach
-less(in my opinion) stiffness,
-better shape/appearance( very personal but fits better to the shape of my Bmc tmr01) but generally less comfortable
-drops have smaller diameter (bassically the same but round shape seems to feel smaller)
Image

Farsports:
-stiffer,
-better manufactured
-much more ergonomic drops (but somebody here informed that narrowed drops are less comfortable for him - I assume it’s very personal thing)
Image

If appearance of farsports fits your bike I would chose it instead od exs, especially they seem to be more reliable seller.

lucky you...awesome setup bro!

been trying to get an EXS but always out of stock and no response from customer service..ordered the F1X from Panda but prod/shipment for my size could take until end of this month, don't wanna wait that long anymore with no assurance so i cancelled it and ended up going with the on-stock F1S instead and its weight penalty, price difference for refund..

anyone here has tried getting rid of that farsports decal silver strip? how hard/easy was it?

Thanks for the insight!

Is that the F1s or F1x?
