Cervelo ZHT-5 in size XL, 9.049kg

Hey folks, first time posting on WW. I searched long and hard for a hardtail and settled on the Cervelo ZHT-5 a few months ago from Mike's Bikes for 47% off. I am taller so I had to get a size XL frame. That being said, with a tire swap and even with some copper-colored bling, this bike weighs 19.95 lbs (9.049 kg) on the scale with pedals/mounts/bottle cages included. There's obviously a lot of room to go lighter but here's the start of it.

  SID SL Ultimate fork
  Race Face Next SL 740mm carbon bars
  Cervelo SP29 carbon seatpost

  Reserve 28 XC rims with 1/1 hubs

  Swapped the stock 32t chainring for a 34t

This bike is an absolute hoot and rides like a dream. There's a ton of compliance built into the seatpost and I definitely don't miss a dropper at all. Coming from a 26lb Santa Cruz Blur, it's a massive difference coming out of saddle and just feeling the whole bike levitate up a climb.

24 spokes per wheel, that is little bit flexi for my taste. Is it only me or i can not see specs.

and it could be made lighter since the reserve xc wheels are on the heavier side, have the same on my Blur TR awesome wheelset, just wish it was lighter! Really nice build!

how do you light the bars? I bought one but never isntalled and now I'm thinking to return since I've heard it's kinda stiff, might get Enve M6 instead

Hard to tell because the Ultimate fork is ungodly stiff but haven't found anything to be too chattery. Nice combo for the backsweep and rise, I think.

Swapped the EDC threadless carrier out for a regular star nut + carbon top cap + alloy bolt (~10g total) so we're down to 19.89 lbs / 9.024 kg

Just picked up a Cervelo ZFS-5 myself, but a wee bit smaller in size M.

Want to find some alternative solutions for the current head tube routing; my stem is slammed and it *looks* like it's smashing the cables/brake line.

I agree, that's why I opted to keep one spacer. Ran into the same issue with the headset routing on a Soloist.

Been thinking about trying something like this, and getting Chris King upper/lower 1.5", 36 x 45 bearings to deal with any potential water intrusion.
