some alu bolts and you will go light and nice...
have you tried it yet?
Yes, but I will use titaniums bolts for the stem..... alu bolts a not that stronge.
J-Nice wrote:This stem is beautiful-will you be using it with a carbon handlebar? What is the stiffness of this thing?
Yes, its will be use with a carbon handelbar....
Don't no about stiffness yet.... but i think it's very stiff.
well.. alu bolts works, depending on the quality of alu you use ofcourse.
Alu bolts on a stem......I think not. Only on the steerer clamp if at all. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone here that uses alu on the face plate!
Hyde wrote:First of all, Nice work!!! Definately a piece of art! It'd be interesting to see how it holds up. I'm by no means an expert but it looks a little thin in the clamp area around the front of the handle bar. Hope it works out for you! If it does we might be begging you to reproduce it
The clamp will hold, there is 3mm of alloy...

but have you tested this design for strength? You're not going to mount it on your bike and just go riding are you?
